CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:
Once again Emily Woods created a sweet clean romance filled with secrets, second chances, and the love of God. In earlier novels, Wes was not my favorite character. However, in this tale, Emily Woods matured and grew Wes’s character spiritually and morally. I found myself rooting for Wes as he faced financial ruin, wrestled with his non-belief, and his affection for Tallie.
Tallie’s disastrous first marriage left her ready to recognize her need for passion and security; and not the immature imaginings of a girl. However, she has a secret which could ruin everything. Author Emily Woods built the suspense skillfully as she slowly matured Wes and Tallie’s feelings.
Woods’ scenes are descriptive and flow seamlessly. Her characters are realistic as they wrestle with everyday troubles and face the questions of forgiveness and God’s redemption. The pace of the story is fast enough to keep the reader turning the pages, and characters from earlier books appear once again. As you know, I like stories with reappearing characters as I get to catch-up on their lives. I would not hesitate to buy this sweet clean western romance for myself or a friend.
