STORY-LINE THE CYNICAL SHEIKH:
In The Cynical Sheikh, author Barbara McMahon, crafted a solid heart stirring romance between a working girl and ultra rich sheikh. Working middle class Laura Toliver and rich privileged Jenna Stanhope have been friends forever and are closer than sisters. Jenna has found the man of her dreams in Yuusuf bin Mohammad bin Horah. Yuusuf has made bad decisions in the past; falling for gold diggers and fortune hunters. His cousin, Talique bin Azoz bin Al-Rahman aka Tal, dispatched by their grandfather to get Yuusuf out of his latest disastrous relationship, has his own problems. He arrives in America ready to nip the romance in the bud.
Unfortunately Laura, seen in social photo’s with Yuusuf, is mistakenly identified as his latest gold digger. Tal’s determined to expose Laura for a gold digging fortune hunter and get Yuusus back home. Tal has traumas in his past which will color his perception of Laura. He devises a plan to woo Laura away form Yuusuf, then show her true colors to Yuusuf.
Come along with Laura, Jenna, Yuusuf, and Tal as they face misunderstandings, heartache, and deception. As the old adage says:
“Oh what a tangled web we weave, When first we practice to deceive”
Grab a comfortable seat, my romance novel review of The Cynical Sheikh follows.
CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:
Firstly, Author Barbara McMahon created a clean heart warming, and at times, sad romance in The Cynical Sheikh. Secondly, McMahon clearly depicts the perils rich and handsome men face in the arena of love as well as the heartache of the other parties involved.
In addition, the well-paced plotting rolled along smoothly as McMahon developed the story-line and characters. I could feel the heartache, despair, and the prejudice Tal brought into the situation, as well as his confusion. As a result, I became involved in the lives of the characters. Progressive development of Tal’s character was intense and thorough as he comes to face his own preconceived ideas of romance and money. He will come to recognize that true love can bridge any gap.
Finally, in concluding my romance novel review of The Cynical Sheikh, I found a well-written and developed book. Also the story-line grabbed me immediately and entertained throughout. I would not hesitate to buy this book for my self or a friend.
THE CYNICAL SHEIKH RECOMMENDATION: STARS 4
In addition, I found The Cynical Sheikh a clean book suitable for 13+ through adults. I look forward to McMahon’s next work.
