CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, AND DEVELOPMENT:
First and foremost, A Dance At The Christmas Ball is perfect for an afternoon of relaxing enjoyment, putting you in the mood for the holidays. The second book set in the Christmas season by Johnson, the premise of the story was sweet. Although a short read, author Caroline Johnson crafted a clean inspirational Christian romance; suitable for anyone who enjoys the Regency period.
Due to the length of the book, Ms. Johnson was unable to develop her character in-depth nor show in-depth backgrounds. Contrary to their parent, the novel, novellas and short reads must grab the reader in a very short period; there is no time to plot in-depth scenarios, conflicts, or resolutions. However, Ms. Johnson infused this story with all the elements needed to create an entertaining read and grab the reader’s attention. For the short length of the story, Ms. Johnson developed her characters fully. Each of Ms. Johnson’s characters, revealed as spiritually mature and possessing Christian values, are sweet and inspiring.
Finally, in concluding my inspirational romance novel review of A Dance At The Christmas Ball, I found an easy to read, light, relaxing short book.
