CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, AND DEVELOPMENT:
First, let me say, I loved this story. Author Jaxon Reed created a character in Gerald which I felt great emotion. The progressive revelation of Gerald’s past, his abilities, and the damage they have caused in his life, left me feeling sad at his isolation. Humans are not solidarity animals and Mr. Reed expertly revealed this fact. Mr. Reed developed his characters throughout the story-line making them feel believable. Twists and turns make this a thrilling mystery thriller read; who is friend and who is foe?
Skillful crafting of the villain included all the elements needed to portray a top-notch villain who has no mercy. What a worthy adversary for Gerald and Parker! The story-line is full of action, surprises, villains galore, intrigue, mystery, secrets revealed, and emotion. Mr. Reed’s writing skill made this story seem believable. I am not usually a great fan of sci-fi novels, however, this is a series I will continue reading. At least, I hope the author intends to write a series; it would be a shame if he does not. What a surprise at the ending of the book. It was a mind-blowing finish. I can’t wait to see what else is in store for Gerald.
Additionally, the pace of this book was fast and steady. I never lost interest nor did my attention lag. Once I started reading, it was hard to put the book down. Furthermore Mr. Reed, included all the elements needed to craft a solid entertaining story-line.
In addition, as I conclude this mystery thriller novel review, I would not hesitate to buy this book for myself or a friend. Mr. Reed has penned an excellent sci-fi mystery thriller novel worthy of a second read.
