In a Heart Made For Love, Linda Tillis crafted a clean romance novel filled with emotion. Set in Florida during the early 1900’s, we find Mae Hinton facing a tragedy no woman should have to face. Assaulted by a group of men, Mae must face the evil of the world head on. Not one to lay down and quit, Mae’s determined to survive and fulfill her dreams.
Although her mother died years before, Mae’s family lives by her teachings. With brothers Samuel and Cyrus, her father Garth, and her mother’s principles, this family’s united in love of each other and of God.
After, “the event” occurred, Mae’s determination to provide for abused and victimized women takes a strong grip on Mae. Mae’s determined to provide shelter and training. Today we would call this project a woman’s shelter with vocational training. Meanwhile, Mae meets and comes to love Edward Finch, doctor in training. Edward, training in England and home for a visit. does not know what hit him upon meeting beautiful Mae.
Circumstances occur which allow Mae to realize her dream. But at what cost? Will Mae’s happy world comes tumbling apart? The past has reared its ugly head, and Mae will have to decide how to handle the emotions and upheavals of an ugly murder and the return of her attackers. CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, AND DEVELOPMENT:
First and foremost, let me say, what an emotional roller coaster ride author Linda Tillis crafted in her romance novel, A Heart Made For Love. Family is the backbone of this story. Crafted as an epic story of family unity, strength of character, God’s love, and purpose driven lives, A Heart Made For Love invokes great emotion from the reader. I felt everything from great joy to great sadness reading this wonderful book. Although a romance novel, this story highlights the greatest love a person can know: God and family.
Author Linda Tillis crafted and developed each character to its full potential; Samuel the caretaker, Cyrus the nurturer, Garth the protector, and Edward the love of Mae’s life. Of course, Mae’s character developed as an independent, strong, and determined woman, with great abiding faith in God. Every good story needs a worthy villain, and Ms. Tillis created truly evil villains for her novel. You will love hating these vile creatures.
Furthermore, Ms. Tillis did not shy away from the subjects of abuse and victimization. Ms. Tillis skillfully presented the attitudes of the early 1900’s on the status of women. It is sad to say even in the churches these attitudes flourished.
Containing twist and turns, Ms. Tillis brought all the threads together to create a solid-story line. With smooth and steady pacing, the story never lagged or bogged down. Furthermore, A Heart Made For Love, proves without a doubt, a solid story and talented writing, do not need sex to sell the book.
Finally, in concluding my romance novel review of A Heart Made For Love, I found a well-written book with well-developed characters and solid story-line. An epic family drama of love, unity, and God’s grace, you do not need be religious to enjoy this story. This well crafted romance will appeal to anyone who enjoys romance novels which touch the heart.

In conclusion, I did not hesitate to give A Heart Made For Love 5 well-deserved stars. Although presented with tact and grace, due to subjects of abuse and victimization, I would recommend this book for young adults to adults.
