How and Where To Buy Herbs, Essential Oils, And Containers

DIY recipes using essential oils, stabilizing oils, herbs, and spices are a passion for me.  As you know a medical condition forces me to create recipes for all household and personal products I use.  I will be posting recipes, suggestions, and ideas I have created or existing recipes I have altered to suit my needs.

In order to create your own, you will need supplies.  I have listed a few resources.  There are many others on-line.  Research, find a site having a good reputation, provides a quality product, and is cost-wise.

All herb and oil suppliers are not created equal.  Start slow and build up your supplies, you do not have to buy it all at one time.  Start with one recipe and work forward.

NOTE ABOUT COCONUT OIL:  Use coconut oils that are raw, cold-pressed or expeller-pressed, virgin organic coconut oil.  The less coconut oil is processed the more benefit you receive from this wonderful oil.

I do not buy coconut oil from the grocery store because I have not found any that was cold or expeller pressed.  Cold or expeller pressed coconut oil is not refined, chemically processed or deodorized. I will go into this further in a future post.

NOTE ABOUT ESSENTIAL OILS AND CONTAINERS:   Use 100% pure essential oils (do not use fragrance oils), and PBA free plastic containers .  PBA has been found to have harmful health effects;  PBA is used to produce plastic bottles and plastic containers.  These container will out-gas.

This sounds complicated; it’s not.  You are creating a product you will use in your home, on your body, or consume;  you want that product toxin free and you want to receive the most benefit available from the product.

Research what I have posted above; there are thousands of articles on-line to educate the consumer about daily toxin exposure and how to make earth friendly and human friendly products.

NOTE: MOST ANIMALS ARE EXTREMELY SENSITIVE TO 100% ESSENTIAL OILS, NEVER SPRAY 100% ESSENTIAL OILS ON YOUR PET, ESPECIALLY CATS AS THEIR LIVER CAN PROCESS THE OIL.  RECIPES DO EXIST FOR NATURAL FLEA SPRAYS AND OTHER ITEMS, FOLLOW RECIPES EXACTLY AS STATED WHEN MAKING FOR USE ON PETS.
