Mail Order Bride: The Seven Sons of Jethro Book 5
STORY-LINE MAIL ORDER BRIDE: SAVING THE BRIDE BY TERRI GRACE:
In Saving The Bride Book 5 of the Seven Sons of Jethro series, Flora Moore, thrown from her sister’s house under a charge of indecency, doesn’t know where to go. Working a factory job during the day, staying awake at night to avoid her brother in law’s evil intentions, and caring for her sister’s children, have worn her down. The last straw is when her sister believed her husband lies and threw her in the street.
When Molly White, owner of Cozy Bridal Agency, hears crying in the park, she finds Flora. After hearing her story, Molly takes her to her home. Molly knows how to solve Flora’s problem. Robin Knerr wants a wife and Flora would be perfect. Arrangements made by Jethro and Molly, she’s on her way to Robin. But things do not go as planned; the train derails and outlaws kidnap her and four other women. Will Robin arrive in time to save her and the others? Or will evil men with evil intentions, win the day? My romance book reviews follow.
CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:
I like these brothers, each a devout Christian, good men of honor; they make wonderful husbands. Grace crafted another great tale in 82 short pages. Robin’s character’s sweet with a deep faith in God; his wish for a wife after seeing the happiness of his brothers is sigh worthy. Authors are unable to develop characters and story-lines in a short story as in a novel. However, Grace did a skillful job of plotting her story and developing the characters.
I liked the additional information; Grace included about Molly’s matching business and how she screens and assures her choices are happy in their new life. She added in tidbits of checking backgrounds, letters from pastors, contacts in law enforcement, and what we call today, criminal record checks. Molly’s runs a Christian mail order bride agency; only Christians need apply.
Faith always plays a large part in the tales by Grace and this tale is no different. Godly men and women, strong and faithful were needed to settle the west. Flora, Jethro’s sons, and their wives make up this breed of men and women. I found Flora’s faith in God and prayer beautiful, as she had no doubt God would protect them in their hour of need.
In this short story, Grace crafted a solid sweet clean romance. The pacing’s in line with the length of the story, and the plot’s intriguing. An easy to read tale with a clear, clean writing style, I enjoyed my time spent with this family.
