Then Otto steps forward with an offer of marriage. Libby rejects him in favor of going with his extended family. He thinks she refused him because of his disability.

CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:
With a storyline of wounded people, hope, and redeeming love, this book will grab you and not let go. Otto and Libby have wounds, and they must face their devils and put them to rest. Each is a strong individual to have survived what life handed them to come out on the other side spiritually and mentally whole; or at least as whole as they can be after all the anguish, hurt, and pain.
With plotting which included twist and turns, Abbott revealed surprises after surprise. She had many plot threads to weave together, which she did skillfully. The emotion in this storyline will grab your heart. As well as, make you think as she highlighted the injustices to the Native Americans and women. Abbott also gives the reader interesting historical facts from both viewpoints. I am always amazed by the ruthlessness of the government and the prejudice of white Americans. Also included are historical facts of Kansas and Quantrill’s Raiders; who were ruthless killers rather than the heroes depicted at times.
MY OPINION:
I found this story at times sad and heartbreaking, However, have no fear, joy does come in the morning. Zina Abbott filled the storyline with emotion from heartwrenching to joyful. As well as, depicting a particularly despicable behavior with grace and finesse. Also, her inclusion of faith in her character’s lives is well done without preaching to the reader. I found her writing descriptive and easy to follow with scenes which transitioned smoothly. The characters are realistic and believable with secondary characters who added depth to the storyline. Otto’s Offer is a clean, wholesome book which I would not hesitate to buy for myself or a friend; this is an excellent love story filled with action, emotions, and intrigue.
OTTO’S OFFER RECOMMENDATION: STARS 4.5
