The Celebration Series Book 5
STORY-LINE SWEET AS SUGAR BY STACY EATON:
Sweet As Sugar takes us back to Celebration, small town USA; filled with love and where everyone looks out for each other. Dispatcher Missy Moresco has the pulse of Celebration under her finger tips. She knows everything going on in this small town. She’s loving, fun, dependable, and fast with a snarky comment, along with carrying an extra fifteen pounds in the posterior. When one of Celebration’s own’s threatened, FBI Agent Casper Princeton, shows up in the middle of a snow storm to cover the case. To say he and Missy butt heads from the beginning is an under statement. The sparks fly fast and furious. Deciding a fake relationship between Missy and Casper will be the cover to protect the case, Missy and Casper snark, snip, and fight mutual attraction.
Add into the mix Casper’s adorable five-year old daughter, and the stage’s set. Casper shows up on Missy’s doorstep, daughter in tow; of course, Missy can not resist the adorable child. Come along with Celebration as they protect their own and shower Casper with small town love and noisiness. My contemporary romance novel review Sweet As Sugar follows.
CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:
Author Stacy Eaton crafted the perfect small town in Celebration; a place I would love to live. Where neighbors look out for each other, provide support emotionally, and never leave you to struggle on your own. I love her portrayal of Celebration and the secondary characters in all the Celebration series.
Casper’s character’s, a big city FBI hunk, unfamiliar with small town life; where everyone knows your business and makes it their own. Not only hunky, Eaton filled him with all the traits we all look for in a man. He can shot a man without hesitation but also cry over his child’s trauma.
Missy is the heartbeat of Celebration. Every small town has one, and Missy is Celebrations; loved without strings, protected by the town, and ready to defense her at the drop of a hat. The snarks fly throughout this novel as she and Casper run head long into a happy ever after. I chuckled at times as these two traded one barb after another.
With just the right amount of romance, suspense, and mystery, Eaton’s plotting included excitement and romance. Although containing a love scene, it is almost behind closed doors, which I found refreshing. The mutual sexual attraction was tasteful and never offensive.
Finally, in concluding my reviews for contemporary romance novel Sweet As Sugar, I found an easy to read book with everything needed for an entertaining read; I found myself reading this book straight through. With smooth plotting and well-developed characters, Sweet As Sugar did not blog down or lag in any way. I love Eaton’s small town of Celebration and the characters she created to fill it. I look forward to the next installment of this series.
