Receiving an invitation to Bath, England, Elena and Alexander leave by plane. Wrappa-Hamen and the High Priest will travel by magic boat. However, things do not go quite as planned. Including ending up at Stonehenge in ancient England and finding Queen Nefertiti living eternally. Then add in traveling to ancient Egypt and meeting Seth, demon god. CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:
With vivid writing, Lang takes the reader on an action packed ride, full of twist and turns, adventure, time-travel, and laughter. Narrated by the cat, Wrappa-Hamen, who possesses a wicked sense of humor, The Eye Of Nefertiti’s a fun read from start to finish. I laughed and laughed at Wrappa-Hamen’s dialogue, observations, and conversations. A cat with heart, an awkward uncoordinated High Priest, a re-incarnated Pharaoh in baby Alexander, and Elena normal human, are just a few of the characters the reader finds in this fantasy comedy.
Lang takes the reader back to ancient Egypt; where a huge twist to the story occurs. Author Maria Lang had many plot threads to weave together to bring this book to conclusion. Lang wove the plot lines skillfully into a solid story with writing which flowed smoothly. I found the characters well-developed, the premise of the story many layered, and the pacing quickly moved along. Lang‘s scenes transitioned smoothly as she takes you from modern USA, ancient and present day England, to ancient Egypt and back.
I loved meeting Queen Nefertiti, learning more about Egypt, and losing myself in a tale of fantasy and what ifs; a great escape from reality. I would not hesitate to buy this book for myself or a friend.
