The readaholics and the gothic gala

THE STORY LINE:

The Readaholics, of Heaven Colorado, are in the thick things again with the Celebration of Gothic Novels.   In anticipation of the event, their latest reading, du Maurier’s Rebecca, has set the atmosphere of Gothic suspense and mystery.  The event includes authors, Gothic backdrops, costume party, and of course, murder most foul.  Who knew how hard authors were to manage and keep in line!   What follows is a first class mystery with intrigue, secrets, resentment, deception, egos, and of course, murder.

Come along as Amy-Faye Johnson, event organizer and coördinator, her boyfriend chief of detectives Lindell Hart, and assorted characters, solve the latest mysteries, murder, and secrets revealed to all, and you will not want to miss these revelations.

CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, AND DEVELOPMENT:

Author Laura DiSilverio has plotted an entertaining mystery novel filled with many suspects.  The plot was well paced and developed.  The main characters, Amy-Faye and handsome Detective Hart’s are skillfully developed by Ms. DiSilverio.

The secondary characters were woven masterfully into the story-line; the authors have hidden secrets that Amy-Faye and the gang will ferret out.  Ms. DiSiolverio developed each character to its full potential.

I found Ms. DiSilverio’s writing style refreshing, clear, and clean.  I am particularly drawn to the cozy mysteries and this one is well done and met my expectations.  I found the timing of the mystery, revelations, and resolution was spot on without requiring fluff to fill or extent the page count.    Ms. DiSilverio skillfully brought all the clues, plots, and characters together to form a cohesive cozy murder mystery that will delight the reader.
