The Vault by Karen Long

The Vault

Powerful, Suspense, Mystery, Murder

If you like all the above, this book has it all!

Story Line:

DI Eleanor Raven is back in action after a harrowing escape from a mad man in book 1 and the relationship with her new partner Detective Laurence Whitefoot is strained.

He knows a few things about Eleanor; Eleanor has secrets, deep dark secrets that she hides. Eleanor is also struggling to overcome the horror she went through six months ago.

A body is found in the dump after a fire and it’s a little strange, so strange Mackenzie Webber, a landfill employee, had played with it for months and taken photos thinking it was a shop dummy.

More bodies discovered at the landfill, artifacts from the museum are missing; a fiend is creating something of importance to him; Raven and Whitefoot have murders and mysteries to weave together and solve; how do all the pieces fit together?

Character, Plotting, And Development:

Author Karen Long has a knack for bringing it all together seamlessly.  This is an excellent crime thriller. The suspense and action just keeps coming. The plot never lags or lacks, it will keep you interested from the first chapter to the last. The premise is actually rather horrifying.

Ms. Long created a strong woman in Raven, one that is fighting to deal with the emotional scars she is carrying; she is an excellent detective with good instincts and she has loyal friends supporting her.  Laurence Whitefoot and Eleanor are learning how to work together and accept.

Recommendation:

I would highly recommend this book to anyone that likes a good mystery crime story with a lot of action and physiological depth. This series is just hitting its stride, kudos to Ms. Long. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to the next installment.

I received this book from the publisher and Netgalley in return for an honest review.

Books reviews of any novel are dependent on the book review author’s opinion;  book reviews on line under my name are my opinion.
