CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:
First off, I must say how much I love the town of Wishful; quaint, friendly and caring, where everyone knows their neighbor. Author Kait Nolan portrayal of small town life was spot on. I particularly like seeing characters from previous book appear again, as this gives the reader a feeling of continuity.
I found the struggle Reed and Cecily have with past issues presented in a believable manner and resolved skillfully. Each of the Ms. Nolan’s characters are believable and feel real to the reader.
The pace and plotting of the story was smooth and seamless. In addition, Ms. Nolan wove all the threads together to create a wonderful romance story. Without a doubt, every good story needs a villain or two; the reader will find Cecily’s character strengths are up to the challenge. Although, filled with misunderstandings, misconstrued motives, and humor, Ms. Nolan transports the reader from everyday life to Wishful, Mississippi; where anything is possible if you wish hard enough.
In concluding my romance novel review of Wish I Might, I found the writing style clear, clean, concise, and refreshing. Additionally, Ms. Nolan created believable well-developed characters and an intriguing story-line. Although part of a series, this is a standalone. I suggest reading the entire series for clarity of secondary characters.
WISH I MIGHT RECOMMENDATION: STARS 4
I would hesitate to buy this book for myself or a friend. Although Wish I Might does include one tastefully crafted love scene, I did not find it graphic or offensive. Therefore, I recommend Wish I Might for young adults and adults.
